There are many laws, programs, and actions that have been implemented to make things more accessible for those with disabilities, and yet there are still so many societal and physical barriers that the disabled encounter every day. It can make it difficult to participate in daily activities in their own communities. We at Disability Advocacy Center aim to break down such barriers and create a more inclusive world for those with disabilities.

Here are a few things that are involved in our disability advocacy:
- Empowering individuals: As part of our disability advocacy goals, we aim to give individuals with disabilities the education, skills, and confidence they need to engage with their community and daily tasks. We offer independent living skills training, assistance programs, peer counseling, skills training for self-advocacy, and any other information or referrals they may need for support.
- Offering support: Disability advocacy is more than simply teaching the skills those with disabilities will need to advocate for themselves and more easily integrate with society. We also offer the support they may need to become a part of their community. This might include assisting with financial needs, housing needs, transportation needs, and more.
- Outreach programs: Disability advocacy also involves helping others to understand the needs of individuals with disabilities. We offer outreach programs that can increase awareness and teach people in the community on important topics such as disability etiquette and disability sensitivity.
You can give us a call if you would like to learn more about any of our advocacy services and programs.
